Nampo Harvest Day 2026 is done and dusted – and what a good four days it was.

From 12 to 15 May, the SSPD team was on the ground in Bothaville for one of Africa’s most significant agricultural expos, and it did not disappoint. The energy at Nampo is unlike any other event on the calendar. The scale of it, the diversity of the people walking the grounds, and the quality of the conversations that happen when industry professionals, farmers, and suppliers find themselves in the same place – it makes the preparation and the long days on your feet completely worthwhile.

What We Had on the Stand
This year’s stand gave visitors a broad look at what SSPD brings to the market. On display were the new Rehlko Phoenix Range generator, two Mecc Alte alternators, the Mecc Alte PTO unit, the Rehlko RESA generator, an ABB Terra Wallbox EV charger, a selection of Fiamm sealed lead-acid batteries, Donaldson filters, and a King Tony toolbox.

It was a good cross-section of our range – from power generation and alternator technology to EV charging infrastructure, batteries, filtration, and professional tools. Visitors could see, touch, and ask questions about the products rather than simply reading a brochure, which always leads to better conversations.

The PTO – A Product That Keeps Surprising People
If there was one product that generated the most curiosity and conversation on the stand this year, it was the Mecc Alte PTO alternator.

For those unfamiliar, a PTO – or Power Take-Off – alternator connects directly to a tractor’s PTO shaft, using the mechanical output of the tractor to generate electrical power. Single phase and three phase configurations are available, covering everything from workshop tools and lighting to irrigation pumps, grain dryers, and cold storage systems.

The concept is elegantly practical: if you are already running a tractor, you already have the prime mover. A Mecc Alte PTO alternator lets you put that power to work generating electricity, without the capital cost of a separate generator engine and without the ongoing cost of running and maintaining a second machine.

For the agricultural audience at Nampo – farmers, agri-businesses, and contractors who understand the value of making every piece of equipment earn its keep – this resonated. The conversations were detailed, the questions were specific, and the interest was genuine. It confirmed for us that the PTO category deserves more attention, and we are committed to putting it in front of the right audience going forward.

A Word of Thanks
Events like Nampo do not happen without a lot of people doing a lot of work – and we want to acknowledge that.

To the Grain SA team and everyone involved in organising Nampo Harvest Day 2026 – thank you. The logistics of running an event of this scale, year after year, to the standard that Nampo consistently delivers, is no small thing. We are grateful for the platform.

To our own team who manned the stand across all four days – thank you. Long days, a lot of conversations, and a lot of ground covered. The stand looked good, the products were well presented, and every visitor was looked after. We could not ask for more.

And to everyone who stopped by the SSPD stand – thank you. Whether you came to look at the generators, ask about the PTO, explore the EV charger, or simply have a conversation – your interest and engagement is exactly what makes Nampo worth being at. We hope we were able to add some value to your day.

We will be back in 2027 – and we are already planning to make the stand even better.

If any of the products you saw on the stand caught your attention and you would like to follow up, we would be glad to hear from you.
